Vitamin D helps build strong bones by increasing the body’s absorption of calcium and phosphorus. In supplement form, it is available as ergocalciferol (D2) or cholecalciferol (D3). Studies indicate that D3 may be the more potent and longer-acting form preferred by the body. Similarly, vitamin K is found in K1 and K2 forms.
